SAN MARINO

A blanket of dark-violently shaken by the south wind that first bends down the treetops, rending the human soul-enshrouded the Second Tower with an aura of Medieval sorcery. There were none of the summer tourists and the silence of the night was broken only by an unrelenting, metallic clanking of a sign ravaged by the wind. Perhaps, once again, my inexorable imagination, the source of adventures and impossible dreams, was playing a dirty trick on me, but the Passo Delle Streghe (the Witches Pass) that evening the air seemed to come directly from the caverns of hell, making the thousands of lights on the Coastline flicker like will-o'-the-wisp fires lit by diabolic goblins. ----------------------------- Ένα πέπλο σκοταδιού κινούμενο από τον νότιο άνεμο, το οποίο εν πρώτοις λυγίζει τις κορυφές των δένδρων και τυλίγει την ανθρώπινη ψυχή και τον δεύτερο πύργο με μια αύρα μεσαιωνικής μαγείας. Δεν υπήρχε ψυχή τουριστών και τη σιωπή της νύχτας διασπούσε μόνο ένας σκληρός, μεταλλικός θόρυβος μιας κατεστρεμμένης πινακίδας που χτυπούσε ο άνεμος. Ίσως, για ακόμη μία φορά, η αχαλίνωτη φαντασία μου, η πηγή των περιπετειών και των ανεκπλήρωτων ονείρων, έπαιζε ένα βρώμικο παιχνίδι μαζί μου, αλλά στο Πέρασμα των Μαγισσών ο αέρας εκείνης της νύχτας έμοιαζε να έρχεται κατευθείαν από τις σπηλιές της κόλασης, κάνοντας τα χιλιάδες φώτα της παραλίας να τρεμοπαίζουν σαν φωτιές που άναψαν διαβολικά ξωτικά. ---------------------------------------- Un velo di buio violentemente scosso dal vento del sud, che prima si china le punte degli alberi, copre l'anima umana e la Seconda Torre con una magia medievale. Ci sono stati nessuno dei turisti d'estate e il silenzio della notte e rotto solo da un implacabile, clanking metallico di un segno devastato dal vento. Forse, ancora una volta, la mia immaginazione inesorabile, la fonte di avventure e sogni impossibili, e stato riprodotto un gioco sporco su di me, ma quella sera al Passo delle Streghe l'aria sembrava che veniva direttamente dal caverne di inferno, rendendo le migliaia di luci della costiera sembrare come piccoli fuochi che erano accesi dai folletti diabolici. OLYMPIC MUSEUM OF SAN MARINO We change a little the motto that says that “small people do great things” to “great miracles are achieved by small countries” intending to express our admiration for San Marino which for years was working on the big project of the foundation of an Olympic Museum. A museum that could promote athletics and the Olympic movement. This dream became reality during the days of Angelo Vicini (president) and Fabrizio Stacchini (g. secretary) on the wheel of the Olympic Committee of San Marino. MUSEO OLIMPICO DI SAN MARINO Cambiamo un po' il motto che dice che "I piccoli uomini fanno le grande cose", a "grandi miracoli sono realizzati da piccoli paesi" e cosi proviamo esprimere la nostra ammirazione per San Marino, che per anni ha lavorato sul grande progetto di fondazione di un Museo Olimpico . Un museo che potrebbe promuovere l'atletica e il movimento olimpico. Questo sogno e diventato realta, durante i giorni di Angelo Vicini (presidente) e Fabrizio Stacchini (g. segretaria) sulla ruota del Comitato Olimpico Sammarinese. Questo museo rende orgogliosi tutti che hanno lavorato duramente per la realizzazione di questa grande idea, che rappresenta una grande eredita per le generazioni future e un esempio da seguire da parte di tutti i paesi che rispettano la loro storia e cultura.

SAN MARINO AWARDS MIKI THEODORAKIS   The Republic of San Marino awarded the famous composer Miki Theodorakis in a modest ceremony that took place in the Greek Foreign Office on the presence of the Minister of Foreign Affairs of San Marino sr. Fiorucci Stolfi. Mrs. Bakoyianni (the minister of Foreign Affairs of Greece) said that “the modest gesture of the Republic of San Marino worth our compliments, because the work of Mikis Theodorakis is dedicated to the culture of the soul and to the democratic ideals that he promotes continuously by being the ambassador who travels the greek culture to the world”. The Minister of Foreign Affairs of San Marino said that his country decided to honor Mikis Theodorakis because of the legacy of the greek composer, his work and his ideals for democracy and peace. Mr. Mikis Theodorakis said that “the most precious guard of peace has always been the intellectual and cultural development of each country. Strong bonds among the countries are achieved by fertile intellectual exchanges.

ΒΡΑΒΕΥΣΗ ΤΟΥ ΜΙΚΗ ΘΕΟΔΩΡΑΚΗ ΑΠΟ ΤΗ ΔΗΜΟΚΡΑΤΙΑ ΤΟΥ ΣΑΝ ΜΑΡΙΝΟ   Ο διακεκριμένος Έλληνας μουσικοσυνθέτης βραβεύθηκε σήμερα από τη Δημοκρατία του Σαν Μαρίνο σε τελετή που έλαβε χώρα στο ελληνικό υπουργείο Εξωτερικών, όπου παρέστη και ο υπουργός Εξωτερικών της χώρας Φιορέτσο Στόλφι. Η κ. Μπακογιάννη τόνισε σχετικά πως «η ευγενική πρωτοβουλία της Δημοκρατίας του Σαν Μαρίνο είναι άξια συγχαρητηρίων», καθώς το έργο του Μίκη Θεοδωράκη είναι αφιερωμένο «στον πολιτισμό της ψυχής», αλλά και «στην αποδοχή των δημοκρατικών ιδεωδών που ο ίδιος προβάλλει συνεχώς», αναλαμβάνοντας ένα ρόλο πρεσβευτή που «μεταφέρει τα διαπιστευτήρια του ελληνικού πολιτισμού ανά τον κόσμο». Ο υπουργός Εξωτερικών του Σαν Μαρίνο υπογράμμισε ότι η επιλογή του Μίκη Θεοδωράκη από τη χώρα του έγινε λόγω της προσωπικής ιστορίας του μεγάλου συνθέτη, του έργου του και του αγώνα του για τα ιδανικά της ειρήνης και της δημοκρατίας. Ο κ. Μίκης Θεοδωράκης, τέλος, υπενθύμισε ότι «ο πολυτιμότερος σύμμαχος και φρουρός της ειρήνης ήταν και είναι πάντοτε η πνευματική και καλλιτεχνική δημιουργία του κάθε λαού, οι δεσμοί που δημιουργούνται και θεμελιώνουν τις σχέσεις ανάμεσα σε όλους τους λαούς, καθώς και οι γόνιμες πνευματικές ανταλλαγές».
